Morning routine
A warm elderberry drink as a small part of your morning. Choose a drink you enjoy and follow your bottle label for the amount of elderberry product.
Steps
Choose your drink
Set out a cup and a clean spoon. Choose warm water, warm lemon water or an herbal tea you know and tolerate. Allow time for heating and cooling.
Brew a fresh cup
Pour freshly boiling water over the tea. Infuse for at least five minutes, following any longer time on the packet. Remove the strainer or bag, then let the cup cool to a comfortable drinking temperature.
Add elderberry
Once the drink is comfortably warm, add your elderberry product following its label. Syrup and essence do not automatically have the same serving size. Check your bottle ingredients and nutrition information if sugar content matters to you.
Begin your morning
Stir and take a moment with your cup. There is no particular mood to achieve. Close the bottle and store it as its label directs.
The tea preparation step applies only if you choose herbal tea. Check ingredients and cautions on both the tea and elderberry product. Avoid ingredients you are allergic to. Ask a pharmacist about the specific products for children, pregnancy, breastfeeding or questions about medicines. This routine does not prescribe a daily serving.
